Kepping Eggs in a Fridge Door is a Blunder – Know Why?

A refrigerator is an indispensable appliance, and in order to enjoy fresh food for as long as possible, it is necessary to take into account the rules of use. Please avoid the following mistakes and use it correctly!

Overfilling the refrigerator is a common mistake: The more food plates, jars, casseroles and pots there are in the refrigerator, the more the air will not circulate properly. This means that the vents will be blocked, the food will not cool properly, and the fridge will have to use more energy, which means a higher cost on your energy bills. Another disadvantage is that you may not notice spoiled food in the back of the fridge.

Do you use the fruit and vegetable drawers?

Do not avoid putting the vegetables and fruits in the special compartments! These drawers are specially designed to make fresh produce last longer. There is more humidity here than in other compartments in the fridge, which means that lettuce, peppers, mushrooms, and fruit will stay fresh for a longer period.

Another mistake: Storing eggs on the refrigerator door. Storing eggs on the refrigerator door is another problem. Maybe because the refrigerator comes with that egg holder, but it’s best to place it on the bottom shelf of the appliance. In the door area, the temperature fluctuates more than elsewhere in the refrigerator, and eggs can spoil more quickly.

Uncovered plates with food

Many people are in the habit of putting plates with leftover food uncovered in the refrigerator. This is a mistake because they can cause unpleasant odours, and the food dries out faster. Therefore, you must cover the remaining food with cling film or put them in a casserole with a lid.

Don’t forget to clean it periodically!

Another mistake is not cleaning the refrigerator regularly: It is correct that it should be sanitized every 3 months, which involves emptying everything from the device and cleaning it thoroughly. It is also necessary to wipe it once a week with water and lemon or vinegar to remove possible bacteria.
