Healthy Desserts to Feast Yourself During Pregnancy Cravings

During pregnancy, we face a series of symptoms typical of the hormonal revolution that is taking place within our body. Cravings, for example, are one of the most frequent; they greatly impact the sense of taste and smell and produce in the future mother an intense need to consume one or more special foods.

From the point of view of nutrition, this can occur to compensate for a nutritional need of the human body. Among the most repetitive cravings, we can find everything that involves sweets. However, they are not always a timely alternative for our health; there are healthy versions that, in addition to being a delight for the palate, will contribute positively to the well-being of pregnancy. Thinking about this, we have prepared a selection of homemade desserts made with natural ingredients that you cannot stop trying.

Oatmeal and blueberry muffin

Both ingredients contain high levels of antioxidants, which help protect the skin from UV radiation. In a cup, place 3/4 of oat flour, a pinch of baking powder, an egg, and the sweetener of your choice. Then, with the help of a fork, beat all the ingredients until they are completely integrated. Then add a handful of blueberries and microwave it for two minutes, on average (or however long it takes your electric appliance to bake). Finally, take it to a plate and decorate it with some blueberries and a spoonful of Greek yogurt. You can also use jam.

Yogurt and strawberry ice cream

In the blender, place four tablespoons of yoghurt, about six previously disinfected and cut strawberries, and a little of the sweetener that you like the most. Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a homogeneous mixture, then place it in a candy maker or special ice cream moulds and put them in the refrigerator for a whole day. If you wish, add a little organic bitter chocolate made from 70% cocoa for an even more pleasant flavor experience. If strawberries are not to your liking, use other types of fruits that are easy to blend.

Healthy lemon pie

A fresh sweet that will undoubtedly save you from a sudden craving. First of all, we are going to prepare what would be the replacement for the meringue. In a bowl, place a little Greek yogurt or skyr, then a little lemon juice, sweetener, and vanilla, and mix. We taste until the mixture has an acidic and sweet flavor at the same time. Once ready, in a jar, we place a base of granola and nuts, then we add a layer of our mixture, and so on until the container is completely filled. Finally, we garnish with some lemon slices. We put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes, and that’s it, enjoy.
