Effective Tips for Making Your Perfume Last

A perfume that fades too quickly is particularly frustrating. Fortunately, there are several tips to make the fragrance last and smell good all day long.

Focus On Pulse Points

To make the scent of your perfume last as long as possible on the skin, you must first focus on so-called “pulsation” points, that is to say, the areas of the body that give off the most heat, such as the neck, the back and lobes of the ears, the inside of the wrists, the chest, or even the crook of the elbow.

Hydrate Your Skin Well

Remember to moisturize your skin daily with body milk for long-lasting wear. When the epidermis is dry, it tends to absorb perfume more quickly. You can also add a little petroleum jelly to the pulse points. The more hydrated and slightly oily the skin is, the longer the perfume will last.

Choose An Eau De Parfum

If you are hesitating between an Eau de parfum and an eau de toilette, choose Eau de parfum. It is more concentrated, and its base notes, which serve as a fixer for the top and heart notes, are deeper and more intense. Therefore, the trail of an Eau de parfum will be more lasting.

Perfume Your Clothes

Another reflex to adopt is to leave a trace of your passage: perfume your clothes, especially if they are cotton, linen, or wool. These textile fibers retain odorous molecules very well. Spray a perfume cloud a few centimeters from the fabric to diffuse it evenly.

Favor Certain Notes

Finally, be aware that some notes are more stubborn than others. Woody, musky notes of vanilla, amber, and patchouli are known to have better-staying power. These are so-called “stable” notes, heavier and therefore less volatile. And so that your perfume retains all its scents, store it away from light.
