Avoid Keeping Chocolate in the Fridge: How to Store it Correctly

As much as you may be tempted to put the chocolate in the fridge, avoid keeping it that way! In fact, this is the last place it should be put. How to store it correctly, we will tell you in the following lines!

Keeping food in the refrigerator helps keep food fresh and safe. Dairy products are among the foods you should put in the fridge, but not chocolate, although it may contain milk.

In fact, according to the Daily Mail, the fridge is the last place you should store chocolate, with few exceptions. The ideal temperature to keep fresh chocolate is between 18-21 degrees Celsius; in other words, room temperature is suitable.

However, if the house is too hot and you have nowhere to put the chocolate, make sure the product is sealed and put it in the fridge. If it’s not packed properly, it condenses and changes its taste and appearance, and nobody wants that, do they?

But what do you do with certain chocolate products? Like truffles, flakes, bars, and chocolate powder?

How to properly store truffles, flakes, bars, and chocolate powder

Store-bought truffles should be stored in a dark pantry at a low temperature and away from direct sunlight. If they are prepared at home and contain cream or cream, they can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Chocolate flakes or chips withstand higher temperatures than classic chocolate because they do not contain as much cocoa butter. But to properly store these products, it is best to put them in a dark place, at low temperatures, and away from sunlight. It is best to pack them beforehand in a sealed bag.

Chocolate bars are stored in the same way as classic chocolate, i.e., in a place away from high temperatures and sunlight and, only if the temperatures are too high, in the refrigerator. In contrast, chocolate powder is never kept in the refrigerator, only in the pantry.
